In the beginning, there was only time
and space. The darkness surrounded all the universe.
But from this darkness grew a brightness.
A brightness that went without name for many eons. Forces caused this brightness to
gather. And from this gathering there was born the first eternal Love. And it is written
"The power of the First Eternal Love shall become an entity in which all Loves will
be born."
It came to past, that from this First Eternal Love arose two that shall forever go down within the annals of time. Their names are spoken by only those that have felt the brightness. Sir Covenant and Lady Avery.
In the infancy of mankind, there was discord and disharmony. Lost and lonely amongst the masses were all. Searching, yearning.... and yet.... not knowing of which they yearned. Born into this antagonistic struggle were two that knew not what their fates would hold. As it were, in those times, oneness was non-existent. No trust. No honor. Nothing to believe.
~SIR COVENANT~
Covenant was known to be of very high character. But he,
too, rambled aimlessly. Knowing of the craving and the emptiness of his soul he knew not
of that which would fulfill. He chose to seek his revelations deep within himself.
A task
that none had ever been brave enough to explore. For the inner self had been uncharted
until Covenant had taken dominance. He had been aware from his birth that he was not as
all. He knew he had been placed within this universe for a special task.
As Covenant closed himself, he foresaw great darkness. He felt as if he were traveling down a darkened tunnel. So dark.... so very cold.... so very lonely. As he gazed further within himself, Covenant saw the faint brightness looming in the distance. Try as he may, he could not reach the glow. Therefore, he chose to stand and attempt not. But as he remained steadfast, the alternating between coldness and warmth made itself known. And Covenant mused that perhaps these came from the distant light.
Peering deeply within, the faint shadows of light began to take form.........................

~LADY AVERY~
The legend continues to state, that in a distant land, a female was to be born into greatness. The ancient ones had foreseen the birth, but they knew not the purpose.
Avery knew not what destiny
had already known. But as it was with Covenant, she was aware. She too, sought that which
was unknown and yet known to her. As a young girl, her keenness enabled her to acquire the
ability for visions. The visions were kept silent, as she knew she would be mocked,
distrusted and feared. But they made themselves known, nonetheless.
One vision that continued relentlessly, was of an unknown male. A male that Avery's eyes had not beheld. She knew not his name, nor the origin of this vision. Only that it was. It has been handed down through the ages, that upon the day of revelation, Avery had peered deeply into the vision. There, in the distance, stood the man. The man that Avery had viewed so many times in the past. But there was a difference in this vision. Unlike any that had befallen her. From the place of where she stood, she felt the pulling. As if the vision was attempting to draw her closer to it. Avery chose to follow the pull. And as she drew nearer, she reached out. Unable to touch the vision of the man, she began to wind her mist around him, thus causing him to be drawn into her. Swirling around him, she encompassed him with herself and they became one. From this oneness, a brightness was formed. And the brightness became the First Eternal Love.
Unknown to either Covenant or Avery, there was another lurking within the shadows. A presence. A cold, dark, evil presence. Upon the joining and the oneness, the evil darkness became enraged. For that, which he had been created to prevent, had come to be. To cease this oneness, it reached out with a shriek from Hell itself, and stole that which should not have been stolen. And upon taking the brightness, Covenant and Avery fell away from one another. As Covenant opened his eyes, he was filled with a loneliness that he had not before experienced. A deep sadness..... emptiness. For he had become full and now he faced the the dank reality of hollowness. He vowed, that with the last breath from his being, he shall regain that which was taken.

~THE KNIGHT~
In a world without honor, it became unheard of for there to be any sense of loyalty. But Covenant had somehow surrounded himself with those that could be said to have loyalty and honor. Of the Knights that he chose to ride with him to regain that which was lost, Sir Thomas seemed to be the most logical choice. He had been of fine valor and Covenant knew him to be truthful and just.
As the two set forth upon their journey, to regain the treasure that had been lost, Covenant began to notice slight changes within Thomas. None that could be defined as of yet, but changes. The ride continued for many nights and days. Ever searching... seeking. Finding naught. The two became weary, but Covenant was relentless in his search. He had tasted the light of his Lady and he would not rest until that light had been returned to them.
Time became endless, it seemed. And Thomas began to fill Covenant's thoughts with those of negative meaning. Speaking in terms of futile ness and failure. Often expressing the need and desire to end the search. For it was unreal from the start. Nothing that held any substance ,anyway. Try as he might, Thomas was not able to persuade Covenant to cease.
In the days and nights that followed, it became apparent to Covenant that an evil force had overtaken the journey. He had felt this force once before. He had felt this force while in the arms of his Lady's mist. But there was no means... no reason as to his feeling such a wave of foreboding. And he watched. He watched carefully the changes in the air. He watched cautiously the changes in Sir Thomas.
As the two came nearer to the scant village before them, Covenant sense of danger increased. The smell of evil grew stronger and stronger within his nostrils. Gazing down the hillside, into the distance, the sleepiness of the village called back to him. How could there be danger? As he turned to speak to Sir Thomas, he was startled to behold a great smokiness surrounding the body of Sir Thomas. As the vaporous fog continued to encompass his companion, a deep, dark, depraved sound was heard by Sir Covenant. As the fog lifted and forms became clearer, Sir Covenant's eye befell upon the most horrendous sight that had ever met his vision. Sir Thomas, his trusted and loyal friend, had transformed himself into a creature that was beyond description. The creature had the shape of a huge winged lizard. The tongue of a serpent. Sir Covenant knew it to be that of a mythical beast. The resonance of it's voice, the air surrounding it.... Sir Covenant became aware that THIS was his enemy. This beast was that which had taken the essence. The quest was met. The final confrontation to be held.

~EPILOGUE~
Sir Covenant returned to his fair Avery. The quest fulfilled. The deed had been done. As he rode to his Lady, he kept tightly bound within his Soul , the complete denotation of all that had been won. Love can and shall forever be ETERNAL. From that day forward, only those that remain pure in spirit, uncorrupted within their Souls will ever be allowed to taste the fullness of that "First Eternal Love".
